After twenty years have ed since Nobunaga’s defeat at Samanosuke’s hands, the Onimusha saga continues. Now that Japan has been unified, Hideyoshi Toyotomi is the leader of Japan. He brings the Genma back to life, and a new hero by the name of Soki steps up to meet the task. The narrative of the game is presented through a variety of CGI sequences, and it consists of seventeen levels. In addition to Soki, a total of four more characters, each with their own distinct approach to combat, can be controlled by the player. Ohatsu employs projectiles, while Soki and Jubei fight with swords and blades respectively. The gameplay is faster-paced compared to its predecessors. Instead of simply bashing buttons, as was the case in the earlier games, players can now lock on to certain foes. Cooperative puzzles have been introduced as well. In addition to that, there is now a camera that can capture 360 degrees.
