Acclaim Studios Manchester is responsible for developing the hack-and-slash video game Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance, and Acclaim Entertainment is the game’s publisher. In 2003, the game was available on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and personal computers. There would be a Nintendo GameCube version, but it was scrapped. The game’s working title was “I Gladiator” while it was being developed. In 2006, Throwback Entertainment acquired the rights to several Acclaim franchises, including Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance. During the IGNITE conference on May 6, 2015, Microsoft announced that Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance would be made available for Xbox One and the Windows and Windows Phone stores later in the year 2015.
