In this third-person action platform game, you take control of Donald. Daisy, who is dating Donald, works as a journalist for one of the television stations in Duckburg. Daisy is taken hostage when she is conducting research for an article on the hidden temple of the evil magician Merlock. It is now up to Donald to rescue her and bring her back. Along the trip, he will receive assistance from his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie and from the inventor Gyro Gearloose. Gladstone Gander, another person attempting to rescue Daisy, will provide him with stiff competition. The gameplay consists of switching between a side-scrolling running and jumping section and a full-screen running and jumping area. The side-scrolling stages have a gameplay style that is very reminiscent of that of the Super Mario Bros. games. The 3D scenes are reminiscent of those in the Crash Bandicoot video game series. There are a total of twenty levels, and they are dispersed across a variety of environments.
